With today news all about the rise of gas prices many people are worried about using their conventional gas fires. Many open fronted gas fires are inefficient and loose alot of the heat that is produced up the chimney. Most of them these days are used for a decorative flame effect.
So are there any gas fires that have a low running costs. Well the best option would be to choose a glass fronted fire. These are much more efficient than conventional open fronted fires. They work by restricting the airflow into the fire to stop heat loss through the chimney and this also helps to pump out more heat into the room. Glass fronted gas fires therefore give a greater heat output with lower running costs.
